TFCO Purple Maxx™ thread sealant tape is the workhorse of our heavy-duty tapes. Purple Maxx™ tape is thicker and denser than most other tapes and can be used in virtually any application up to 10000 psi. It provides a tight seal while providing natural lubrication to prevent damage of the threads. Made of 99.5% virgin PTFE (a pigment is added for coloring), it is resistant to most common chemicals and is rated for temperatures from -450 to 550 deg F. Purple Maxx™ tape can be used in virtually any application (except oxygen). It can also be used in gas lines where local codes do not require yellow gas line tape. Purple Maxx's™ unique color prevents it from being confused with lighter tapes.
